Since it opened in 2019, this ranks among the best bars in Stockholm and in the world. Gemma is where locals and tourists come to enjoy a nice drink in a stylish setting.

Take their impressive menu : each of their elaborate beverages has a backstory, that the mixologists will be happy to share. One of the most popular signature drinks is the Renegade of Funk, a tropical cocktail served in a monkey-shaped glass.

Their bartenders will provide you with helpful suggestions. They can also craft a drink to your liking, with options that don’t appear on the menu.

You may ask, who is Gemma ? According to the founder, it is an acronym for Generosity, Emotional, Mindful, Multilateral, Artisanal. It reflects their ambition : serving well balanced drinks and sharing knowledge on mixology techniques.

Brännerian, a minimalist bar in Södermalm

To experience authentic nordic flavors, you should definitely Brännerian, a small bar attached to Stockholm’s first craft distillery. They make their own gin and vodka. You can enjoy them straight or mixed with local favorites like lingonberries.

Moreover, their staff is quite knowledgeable, they will be happy to help you chose your drink and pair it with their delicious food.

To learn about their distilling process, you can visit their lab (visits available both in English and Swedish). On top of that, they also host workshops to help you create the best Gin & Tonic, that way, you can hone your mixology skills.

You’ll find this hidden bar in Östermalm, but be careful not to miss the discreet entrance, a narrow wooden door.

With its cozy velvety interior and relaxed atmosphere, Lucy’s Flower Shops can be fairly crowded. And for good reason : their mixologists regularly update their signature cocktail menu, with local fresh seasonal products

You can make a reservation in advance on their website, although they always keep tables free for walk-ins. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also book their 7-servings tasting menu, for a minimum of 2 guests.

20hundra5, one of the best spots to mingle

Have you ever tasted a cocktail with olive oil in it ? If not, then you should stop by 20hundra5 in Vasastan and try their Besto cocktail. You could also order their gin-based Pinapple Hustle N°6, balancing fruity flavors and tiny pinch of sea salt !

Since its opening in 2016, this bar received multiple accolades for its drinks and its grungy yet welcoming ambiance. The 90s inspiration is so strong that you cannot help but feel a little nostalgic, when you step into this place.

20hundra5 is also a great place to mingle. It often bustles with regulars and cocktail connoisseurs. Their friendly mixologists are always happy to chat, about drinks and other topics. You can also join a group and play retro games on the Nintendo NES upstairs, as well as board games.

  • Coralie’s tip : If you are visiting Stockholm as a solo traveler, this is probably the best bar to immerse yourself in a local crowd.

Paradiso,
the best cocktail bar in Stockholm for rum lovers

The team behind the famous restaurant Tjoget came back with Paradiso. This hip neighborhood bar near Mariatorget is almost entirely dedicated to rum. Their selection of French, Spanish and British rum bottles, is absolutely impressive. You can request a rum tasting directly at the bar, the bartender will offer you a tour tailored to your preferences.

Their cocktail list features innovative creations as well as skillful riffs of classics. Their rum-based Paradiso Iced Tea is a fantastic twist on the Söder tea, a swedish blend of black tea and tropical fruits. If you prefer stronger bitter flavors, the Diablo is a great option. And their interpretation of the Millionnaire Cocktail will make you feel expensive.

  • Coralie’s tip : Out of all the bar mentioned here, Paradiso is probably the more festive option. Their regularly host music quiz nights as well as DJ sets. A great way to mingle while sipping tasty drinks !
