The truth is making new friends is hard everywhere. You might be a Swede who just moved to Stockholm, a local in search of a new community or an expat in a new county. If meeting people is difficult it’s mostly because it requires you to go out of your comfort zone. And to find people you really vibe with, you need to be resilient, because it might take more than one try.

By joining events or activities in Stockholm, you can try a lot of different things and meet many different people. Here are my three favourite activities to in Stockholm:

 

The Cocktail Contest (of course!)

I might not be objective but the Cocktail Contest is, according to me, the best way to meet new people in Stockholm. By participating in a fun activity, you take off the pressure of breaking the ice and making conversation. The cocktail challenges will create topics to talk about while you will be paired up in different teams. And I’ll be there to make sure all runs smoothly!

 

Dinners with strangers

Going to dinners with strangers is a good way to get deeper connections in this small group setting. There are many companies offering to pair you up for dinner (like Timeleft), brunch or fika. You can even try out Cake Picnics.

 

AFTERWORKS FOR SINGLES

Maybe you are looking for more than just friends? If so, a great way to meet singles irl is the single mingles. Thursday Dating hosts fun single nights in Stockholm and if you’re lucky I might even be there for cocktail activity for singles.
